Carl Sagan

There’s a lot to love about Sagan: a great scientist and great author, a genuine thinker and an excellent populariser. His book and TV series “Cosmos” remain some of the greatest works of popular science of all time. And, of course, he is one of the most quotable men in history.

He was at one time in my top 5 favorite thinkers. He championed science, especially astronomy, like no other before or since. He now resides in my top 10 since he became a bit of a watermelon (green on the outside, red on the inside) in the twilight of his career. Too much gange?
